University of the Peloponnese was established in 2000 and comprises of 9 Schools and 22 Departments, providing tertiary education to more than 22.000 under- and post-graduate students. It supports 24 post-graduate studies programs, out of which 6 are taught in English and 9 are jointly organized with Greek and foreign Universities. The administrative and academic center of the university is located in Tripoli, while faculties and departments operate in the five capitals of the Peloponnese region (Tripolis, Corinth, Nafplion, Sparta, Kalamata) and in Patras. It offers studies in all cycles of learning: undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral as well as life-long learning activities and has established cooperation with important national and international universities, research centers, and public entities.
Its main mission is to contribute to the development of higher education in the Peloponnese region and Greece, by adopting high quality standards with respect to the content of studies, research and teaching performed, following the requirements of a modern university with a national, European and international scope.
